Let's Meet Amy!

Let's meet Amy ... She is one of our newest Design Team Members who will be starting with us in June. You can see more of Amy's work on her Blog White House Stamping... We are so excited to be working with Amy!

I grew up in a creative family and have always loved paper and colour. I was introduced to card making about 8 years ago and became a complete addict! A few years later I stumbled across Stampin Up through SCS and discovered they had just launched in the UK so I went along to a taster session and ended up becoming a demonstrator. I run regular classes at my home in Bristol and really enjoy spending time with the friends I've made through this hobby. I have a long-suffering husband who puts up with paper and stamps everywhere and four cats who enjoy finding scraps of card on the floor and stealing them to play with... I'm so excited to be part of the Friday Mashup team!

FM59 it's all Ribbons and Bows...

Hello Friday Mashup fans, Kasey here, I am both excited and a little bit sad as this week marks the end of my term on the Friday Mashup Design Team. I'm finishing on a week where it is my turn to bring you the challenge and I want you to be On the Edge! Yes that's right, have a decorative edge on your project and mash it up by using ribbons and bows. Such a fabulous picture that Justin and Mary gave Holly permission to use for our challenge graphic this week.

I have to thank Holly for taking me on to her team, firstly as a Guest Designer and then as a permanent member of the team. My very first DT gig! I've had such a wonderful time working with these talented crafters. I've also seen some amazing creations from you, our followers and participants, in our weekly challenges. Welcome to the new Friday Mashup DT members, I am sure they are going to be bringing you some amazing projects to inspire and challenge you. I'll still be around in blog land and I'm working on three other DTs, I'll even stop by the Friday Mashup now and then to play along!

Let's meet Liliana....

I'll have the Rock Star Pick for last week in a bit.. Let's say Hi to Liliana she is one of the newest Members of the Friday Mashup Design Team! You can see more of her work on her blog Stampin' From Home.

Hello everyone! My name is Liliana and I live in Miami, FL, but I am originally from Argentina. I am married with a very supportive husband, and a SAHM of four children (three in their 20s and a 12 year old), and 3 furry cats. I've been doing crafts since I can remember, but I got hooked with cardmaking when I attended my best friend's SU! workshop four years ago. Since then I became an SU! demonstrator and I've enjoyed every single minute of it.

I did several presentations at SU! conventions and leaderships. I try to participate in as many challenges as I can, because I love to create cards every day just following sketches, matching colors and papers, or whatever the challenge asks for. I also sign up for online courses about techniques where I can learn a bit more about inks, papers, scrapbooking, cards, etc.

I learn something new every single day and that is so exciting to me. It was in this way that I found the Friday Mashup challenge blog . I was guest designer for the month of April and now I am honored to be part of the design team and to be able to share my creativity with all of you. I really love what I do and I hope to inspire you so you can enjoy making cards as much as I do. I can't wait to look at all your submissions and be inspired by them as well.

FM58 a colorful Thank You!

Welcome back for another challenge at The Friday Mashup. Lisa here and this week I've got a Mashup that honors a holiday that is very near and dear to me.

In the US we celebrate Memorial Day the last Monday in May. It was formerly known as 'Decoration Day' and honored the Union soldiers lost in the Civil War. By the 20th century Memorial Day was a day to remember ALL our men and women who have been lost while serving in the military.

Some people use Memorial Weekend as a time to usher in the summer, to BBQ and enjoy their family and friends. My family does the opposite. We attend local ceremonies in town that honor those that have been lost, we walk through the cemeteries and pay our respect to the fallen warriors. As a military family it is important to us to pay our respects and teach our children what the day is really about. This year we will be joining my friend, who is a Gold Star mom, at the Alaska Veterans Memorial to pay respect to her son, and to all the others who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

So as a challenge we are asking you to make a patriotic card or a card of remembrance for someone you may have known, use the colors provided below or mash it up and create a patriotic/remembrance card with the colors provided.

We've also got a special part to this challenge....take your project and donate to a wounded warrior, to a loved one of a military member that has passed or to your local veterans chapter. You can also mail your cards to Holly and she will hand deliver cards to Walter Reed National Military Hospital.

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :
  1. Make a project that's "Patriotic or for Remembrance".
  2. Or Make a project with the colors " Whisper White, Night of Navy, Poppy Parade & Daffodil Delight."
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Remembrance or Patriotic project using the colors above."
  4. Donate your card to a Wounded Solider or that Special Service Member in your Life!
* If you would like to Donate a Card to a Wounded Service Member you can send your cards to Holly. The Red Cross at the Walter Reed National Medical Center will accept the cards and distribute them to Wounded Service Members throughout the hospital. Please send your cards to Holly Endress P.O. Box 18 Arnold, MD 21012 no later then May 31st. She will be hand delivering them to the Red Cross at the WRNMC.

Our Design Team has created some great cards to help get you started...
